Akosua Busia
I am a PhD student in Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley, advised by Michael Jordan and Jennifer Listgarten and affiliated with BAIR and RISELab. Before Berkeley, I spent two years doing research at Google Brain as a member of the inaugural class of the Google AI Residency Program. I obtained my B.S. in Mathematical and Computational Science from Stanford University, where I was advised by Bradley Efron and worked with Russ Altman to complete my honors thesis in Biomedical Informatics.
My research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and computational biology. I am interested in designing machine learning methods for biological problems and finding ways to leverage these methods to gain new biological insights.
